COMMISSION A PORTRAIT PAINTING:
PROCESS
* Following initial discussions with the client I will arrange to travel to an agreed destination at a convenient time for a reference photography session with the subject.
* An average photo shoot will take from 2-4 hours during which time will also discuss your thoughts regards the painting as well as numerous practical considerations.
* Back at the studio I will develope the painting composition based on the photographs and information supplied.
* Confirmation of the final details such as composition, dimensions and price will be established before actual painting commences.
* Your painting will then be painted with professional quality oils on premium stretched Canvas.
* Following sufficient drying time the completed painting will receive a final coat of finishing varnish to seal the surface and help protect the painting from the day to day elements.
* The painting will be delivered unframed (unless organised otherwise).
Please note: I do not generally paint from others photographic reference.
FEES AND PAYMENT
Payments are generally broken up into four(4) parts:
* Up-front travel expenses to photograph the subject. One session is usually sufficient.
* One third (33.3%) deposit based on final agreed commission price. Commencement of painting upon receipt of deposit.
* Final balance (66.6%) on completion and acceptance of finished painting. The final balance will be payable prior to, or upon delivery of finished painting, depending on delivery arrangements.
* Freight/Delivery are not inclusive in the commission price.
Please note: Travel expenses, if required, are non-refundable once travel arrangements have been booked or travel commenced.
